What are the prerequisites to get certified?

  • Review the CCA Exam Blueprint.

  • Take CCA training with a Licensed Training Provider (LTP)/ Approved Training Provider (ATP). LTPs/ATPs can be found through the CMMC Central Marketplace.

    • Note: Only individuals successfully trained by an LTP/ATP will have access to register to take the CCA exam

  • Pay exam fee, register for exam, and take and pass CCA certification exam

  • Tier 3 Background Investigation Determination

  • At least three (3) years of cybersecurity experience

  • At least one (1) year of assessment or audit experience

  • Possess at least one (1) baseline certification aligned to the Intermediate (or Advanced) Proficiency Level for Career Pathway Certified Assessor 612 from DoD Manual 8140.03:

    • Intermediate:​

      • ​CGRC/CAP or CASP+ or Cloud+ or PenTest+ or Security+ or GSEC

    • Advanced:​

      • ​CISM or CISSO or CPTE or CySA+ or FITSP-A or GCSA or CISA or CISSP or CISSP-ISSEP or GSLC or GSNA

  • Have or gain a favorable DoD Tier 3 Background Investigation Determination, or Possess a NAC (National Agency Check) or other DoD accepted clearance

    • Or international / host country equivalent​
